20.July.2008 Hello! Once again I've left this alone for several months. Or two. Just two this time. At any rate, the show at the Finch Gallery went swimmingly. Thank you very dearly to everyone that came to check it out, I feel very good about how everything shook out in the end. It was a really valuable, enjoyable experience overall. So! Onward! Next up is a new short film called "Still" that I'm currently finishing up. And then on August the 4th, which is a Monday, there will be a spectacular evening of all kinds of entertainment organized in support of a feature-length project I intend to undertake this year. The PINK HOTEL Fundraiser and Cabaret will be held at the Hideout, here in Chicago (
www.hideoutchicago.com), and will feature a brand new shadow puppet ghost story written especially for the occasion by Jill Summers (
www.callingallmonkeys.com) performed by the young lady herself and her lovely assistant and sister Susie Kirkwood, a fine selection of songs from Mr. Daniel Knox (
www.myspace.com/danielknox), a program of short films by some of the world's finest in the field, including a new one graciously donated by Mr. Guy Maddin, some of my favorites from Lilli Carré and Damon Bishop, the premier of my new short, and a few surprises. Following all of this, if you can even bring yourself to stand having been so saturated with quality entertainment, there will be a 4-DJ tag team dance party spun by Chicago's own War of A Lifetmime DJs! A varitable supergroup of three of Chicago's most sought-after and danced-to DJs, and me. And as if that wasn't worth your mere 7 dollar admission, then please pay an extra two per ticket for our fabulous raffle! Stuffed to the gills with enviable spoils from the world over! Including, but not limited to: Music CDs from Mr. Daniel Knox, personally donated and autographed DVDs from Mr. Guy Maddin, TBD goodies from only the finest local vendors, and more! A Helluva night if I do say so myself. So, do please save the date. You don't have anything else planned on a Monday night anyway! I'd be honored if you'd join us! Hope to see you there, your pal, Chris Hefner.
